The latest 500 model is completely redesigned from the ground up, while still keeping the spirit of the first legendary model alive. We’ve taken the 1998 original, almost 25 years old, and improved it where we could: on almost every level. Moreover, the new 500 MK2 is constructed according to our own incredibly high Olympic standards – 45 years of innovation and professional top-quality construction makes this a truly new experience on the water.

NEW DESIGN
Designed for leisure. Performance built in. With its brand new low drag hull design and increased skeg surface, the Nacra 500 MK2 offers exceptional stability and performance. Powered with newly designed sails, handmade by Olympic Class Supplier Performance Sails, we’ve optimized the power distribution and developed a brand new plug-and-play batten tension system. Large new ProGrip deck pads give extra sailing comfort and improved safety. And just like its Olympic brothers, the Nacra 500 MK2 is fully equipped with Harken™ hardware.
Large new ProGrip decks pads offer additional safety, and sailing comfort. The large pre-tensioned trampoline made of high-quality mesh offers even more support. A new two-person trapeze system with optimized rigging make sailing simple, safe and exciting.
NEW SAIL PLAN
Olympic quality sailing is child’s play. The new sails for the Nacra 500 MK2 are made by our longtime partner and Olympic supplier Performance Sails. Being the only multihull sailmaker in the world granted the right to make official Olympic sails by World Sailing, you know the quality is unmatched. Every sail, every detail. Performance Sails’ 30+ year expertise in the catamaran racing world makes sure your sails can handle anything. They’ve put some real innovation in the new sail plan. And have we mentioned we now offer fully printed Dacron® sails?
The brand new sail plan offers a new mainsail with optimised power distribution and a brand new in-house developed batten tension system, and the option for a furling jib or spinnaker. The new divisible bowsprit makes for easy transport and low set-up time.
